D.FLUENCE
research and design lab
We investigate influence of design across disciplines to create impactful experiences.
D.FLUENCE is a research and design lab on a mission to enable a better everyday life through meaningful design. We specialize in experience design and innovation strategy, leveraging years of experience at Massachusetts Institute Technology and beyond, as well as expanding our capabilities by tapping into our international network of designers and innovators.
Research
01. Social Impact
What is happening around us? From cultural shifts, societal issues, and emerging trends, we use applied ethnography methods to uncover insights and find unique opportunities for design.
02. Emerging Technologies
We’re living in a world empowered by rapidly evolving technologies. How is the technological landscape developing, and where is this pointing to? Our research and mapping of tech trends allow us to design informed solutions for the future.
03. Novel Materials
How can we design new forms of interactivity? We research novel materials to design tangible experiences, products, and systems.
We believe research is key to good innovation, design, and experience. Understanding societal issues, changing behaviors of people, and fast evolving technology around us are just a few of many areas we’re continuously investigating.
Design
01. Experience Design
Human-centered design is key to creating meaningful experience. Our holistic approach looks at all touchpoints of design, from digital to physical experiences (UI/UX/XD) as well as emotional experiences.
02. Strategy Design
What will our experience be like in 10, 20, 30 years? We create innovation strategies by designing future visions, identifying values, and prototyping of experiences. Using our research through design approach, we tailor our methods to fit the scope and topic of our projects.
03. Spatial Design
We design and construct interactive installations, experiential architecture, and visions for urban interventions. Full-scale prototypes and installations allow us to feel, share and imagine potentials of design in our everyday spaces.
